Massage in motion: New upholstery collection showcases what could be a game changer
HIGH POINT — There’s an “aha” recliner moment coming in February, and it’s one that is certain to create buzz both within the furniture industry and eventually, among consumers shopping for motion furniture.
Through what company officials reference as proprietary patented technology and a single dedicated factory in Asia, Lifestyle Enterprise is debuting a new Zen Wave collection of motion-massage chairs during the company’s Hsieh Days online event Feb. 2-4.
Showcasing a unique combination of massage and motion features, this latest version of Zen Wave merges advanced high-tech massage with the everyday comfort and visual aesthetics of a traditional motion recliner — a new addition to the health and wellness portfolio — and a product mix that officials suggest could solve one form-versus-function battle of the sexes for a significant number of households.

Lifestyle describes the latest introduction as an extension of the company’s Zen Wave line, but officials noted that the package of features suggests a new category of health and wellness in upholstered motion furniture. Built with an enhanced 3D roller mechanism that supports a focus on the neck, back, lower back, thighs and legs, the Zen Motion recliner offers patented “non-air” massage options in a streamlined silhouette as well as an exclusive reversible footrest that functions as a normal recliner extension on one side and an adjustable leg massage expansion on the other.
Zen Wave’s motion-massage chair features a reversible footrest.Representatives added that the Zen Motion recliner delivers the same health and wellness benefits consumers expect from modern massage chairs — features that support relaxation and help relieve body aches and pains — with the “clean look” of a standard recliner that fits aesthetically with other furnishings in any room of the home.
“Now a style-oriented consumer can place a beautiful-looking recliner in his or her living space that functions like a traditional motion chair, yet delivers the benefits of massage and wellness,” Hsieh said. “It’s a solution that simply didn’t exist before.”
Exclusive discounts will be offered to retailers during the Hsieh Days online event. Initially, there will be three styles of the Zen Wave Motion recliner available with two to three fabric or leather cover options per style, and prices between $799 to $999 retail. Lead time is approximately 45 days, and Lifestyle officials said that the collection is already in production.
Hsieh Days 2026 will require retailer registration for this year’s event. The registration can be accessed on the Lifestyle website. The first 500 retailers that register will receive access to the Hsieh Days site on Feb. 1, one day before the rest of the industry sees the special Hsieh Days offering.
