Expanding Globally Through Innovation, Strategic Partnerships, and Multi-Channel Growth, Strengthening Leadership in the International Furniture Industry

Lifestyle Global Enterprises Group was established in 1996. Its’ headquarters (Lifestyle Enterprise, Inc.) was originally located in High Point, North Carolina, USA. In 2012, the group was publicly listed on the OTC listing after it returned to Taiwan (herein named Lifestyle Global Enterprises Inc. and stock number 8066). It is the only furniture company in Taiwan that has its own brand with B2B marketing around the world. The main sales region covers Europe and North America, and the company enjoyed a 50% annual growth rate from 1997 to 2007.

At present, the group currently has 24 subsidiaries and offices located all over the world. With a market presence all over the world, Lifestyle earns the reputation as one of the leading furniture companies in the industry.

In addition to meeting the need in China, Lifestyle aims at working together with partner companies to target markets in India and Russia, given the huge population.

In the past two years, in addition to strengthening the development of its global branches, Lifestyle has adjusted its business model by expanding both domestic and overseas markets through M&A of different channels and developing its brands. As virtual and real channels are integrated, Lifestyle acquires different industry sectors to create a more comprehensive business and bring together various resources. Developments with multi-directional strategies can help expand Lifestyle’s business as well as secure its leading role in the global furniture market.

William Hsieh

Founder of Lifestyle

Starting from scratch at his fifties, William Hsieh (謝貞德) founded the well-known furniture company- Lifestyle. Hsieh started Lifestyle in the U.S despite being in debt. In 2007, Lifestyle achieved a new hike in revenue of NT$10 billion, and since 2012, the company has been listed on the OTC market in Taiwan. The secret to Hsieh’s success is the rule of WHW- what (what products to sell), how many (how many to sell), and when (when to sell). The WHW rule is simple but never easy to implement. The book- Re-think reveals Hsieh’s hands-on experiences and marketing strategies on how to put the WHW rule into practice.

However, business management requires not only the WHW rule; Hsieh also kept in mind all the help received along the way. It all started out with retrieving an umbrella for his teacher in the university, and the book depicts Hsieh’s life philosophy of holding kindness and goodwill, which led to miraculous moments that helped Hsieh overcome all obstacles. Through Hsieh’s stories and life experiences, readers can have a glimpse into his personality and see how Hsieh got back on his feet.
